cefiro body kit...fitment issues?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...5484&rd=1&rd=1

I had though about ordering the front bumper of this kit and a grille to go along with my a31 headlights and corners......anyone have any experience or knowledge as to how this bumper would fit? I can modify if need be, just cruious as to the difference in maxima/cefiro dimensions?

hmm... i dont know how that would fit. especially the rear bumper, cuz as you can see, the exhaust on the cefiro exits on the left side, unlike the max. but im sure you could do something to make it fit.

i don't know man. the cefiro looks longer all around. i'm pretty sure you'd have alot of custom work ahead of you to make that fit. as far as i know the only body panels that the cefiro shares with the maxima are doors, roof, A pillar, B pillar. But i could be wrong.

Would Be A Beautiful Project If You Could Work It Out

idk, they look pretty much the same length, except for the rear. the rear on the cefiro looks longer than the one on the max.

Interesting.. I dont think the Cefiro is longer.. I mean.. look at the cab and rear of the car.. it's almost IDENTICAL to a 3rd gen Max. The cars are very very similar, and IMO it even looks like much of the cab is identical.

It has the illusion of being longer (IMO) because the rear doors are shorter as the Cefiro door doesnt incorporate the small triangular window and the Maxima does.

Would be a neat project, and I dont think it'd be much work, especially since you have the lights and corners. Although, I wonder how the Cefiro hood and front fenders would line up if someone were to try that..

Before buying the kit,i would email the supplier and ask them for the dimensions of the body kit, then compare them to your maxima width/height dimensions..

From the looks of it, you'll run into a problem with the front end. The Cefiro bumper cover goes all the way to the wheel, but on our Maximas the fender surrounds the wheel and meets the bumper cover further in front.

if the cefiro bumper is longer, you could just cut the ends of the cefiro bumper off so it sits flush with the fender. thats probabaly what i would do.

I can't even imagine how much it would cost for shipping to the US. After all and done, the project might cost half of what a 3rd gen is worth or more.

oh yeah, now i see the fender/bumper setup here..and how it's opposite of our 3rd gens....the cure for that could be as simple and cutting the fender and re-bracing.

the biggest negative on my end would be the shipping, as you guys mentioned.......for the full kit, the shipping ranges from $110 - $240 within the country, so i can almost imagine the freight charges to the states.

But at the same time, shipping to my wife in Iraq or my friend in Italy may be cheaper, and at that point it can come to me as part of a cargo shipment.

I don't know. was just a thought. i kind of like the silvia-ish front end on that cefiro. and as far as the exhaust slot goes....i can fiberglass all day

edit: the guy priced the front bumper alone at $255.....waiting on the shipping quote now and dimensions now.

Solution: Dual exhausts. Just need to cut out right side to match the left. I'll post some pics of my duals later.

thats a good idea. i was thinking about cutting that part out, cutting a piece of equal size from the right side, switching them, then get it painted to match your car.

I feel bad for the A31 crowd, it's about the only kit they have to choose from. Let me ask you this: Would you ever think about wearing a cheerleader skirt? If not, then don't subject your car to it. Stick with the Stillen.

haha....well.....good input guys...but i think my mind has been changed.

QUOTE=

"shipping charge by sea freight : USD $850 + tax and stamp duty. and the
dimensions are - 200cm x 90cm x 80 cm"

=UNQUOTE

I don't think i'd be comfortable spending $1255 on a front bumper.....and won't be until my pocket change buys a lamborghini.

I have seriously been thinking about clay molding a kit, and trying to mold it afterwards, but it takes motivation....and that's hard to come by these days. I just want something that different, that bad, you know?

Why would somebody wanna make their front bumper so low relative to the ground? That thing would catch on every bump on the road not to mention the divider of the parking lot. Just hard for us, Iowa folk to understand. Is that stricktly for cosmetic purposes? Doesn't even look all that great, like a car bra. Why would anyone wanna pay money to make their car look crapier than it is???

It's called body Styling, and my body is actually functional, at higher speed it slightly pulls my front end down. Above that, I lowered 2"

I think the stock front end looks like @ss.

A car bra??? good analogy

that is your opinion.
others have different opinions, that is why there are 300+ cars made

personally for where I live, I agree with you. My cars will not get lowered or have body kits.

Right, it's just my opinion, which is pretty much what these posts are for. But I gotta say car bras are not only completely useless, but they actually make your car look worse than it was before. I hate those things. That's why I used that analogy.

i got the headlights on ebay.....

Some body kits improve the functionality of your vehicle.....as goon9 said, at higher speeds, an air dam will act as a 'front spoiler' (which is what some lips are called) and lower the front end for improved traction, thus resulting in better control, and more power to the ground.

In Tennessee, the roads can get bad too.....but we do have the best interstate system in the country....so they're fun and easy on the cars (most of the time)

Solution for bad roads = airbags

and on car bras........i can see how they protect your paint, BUT if the rest of the car is slowly sunfading....and becoming chipped by road debris....then what's the point of having a good front end/hood? and if it's always covered up, what's the point of protecting it?

oh, i've been back for a while, just not on the org much with my 13 month old and such. My wife is deploying to Iraq again, sometime in th enext few months. we got a call about 2 weeks before she had to leave, so i'm now extremely busy playing the part of a single parent.

Oh fun fun. Hear you about not being on the org as much. Been busy trying to make this move to Utah happen. Ran into a couple of bumps in the process.

you should move to mid-tn. we could go shoot guns, work on the cars, drink some beer, and chase my son around. and work on getting a good body kit like the cefiro kit going ;x (to keep it on topic.)
