Do you have anything in your cig lighter?

I was just wondering since i've seen a lot of interior pictures with weird items plug into your cig lighter what everyone has.

Obviously you have your car charger, radar detector junk. But i've seen some interesting novelty items like NOS button 12 volt outlet items. I'm looking to actual get something in there but everything is rice like or boring. I saw one on here with a "push button start"

I'm not using the outlet for anything, but I tapped the wires for my wb O2 sensor. So, I can't use the outlet for anything because the fuse will then go.

The A33b already has this. I use this for my phone charger and I bought a cigarette lighter for my cigarette lighter area. This way I can light a cigarette with it.

I have a 3rd gen with one outlet and I don't use it for anything. I don't smoke and I don't have any electronics that use it, either. How boring...

The plastic that holds the lighter there broke so I left it underneath the shifter trim but set up a 3 lighter outlet thing that sits underneath my driver's seat. So instead of a cigarette lighter there I have black duct tape for now, I'll eventually do something more permanent.

I use it for my GPS when I'm using it. If I'm not going anywhere new, I leave the GPS in the glovebox and the little plastic "DC 12v" thing in the socket. The plastic lip that it sits in is partially broken in mine. The outlet works, but if something is plugged in, and I pull the plug out, the whole outlet comes out. Then I just have to drop it back in the little hole.

Usually it involves tearing up the dash, finding another switched 12v line, adding a fuse to it, then (in the case of valentine 1) directly connecting that to the included hardwire adapter, or, if you don't have one of those, just wiring up another cigarette lighter outlet behind the dash, plugging it in there, and carefully threading the wire out somewhere.

I have the stock cover that came w/the car. My car was the non-smoker edition... doesn't have the ash-tray insert and no cig lighter.

It's actually kinda a pain in the *** to do this. I just spent two hours trying to hardwire sat radio and GPS. I was about halfway there when the radio mysteriously stopped functioning. It was 3AM so I just said "**** it, i'll wake up a little early and do it in the daylight"

I did it today and it was a real hassle because I had to redo it a few times and I ripped out more of the interior than I needed to, and I ran the sirius antenna wire across the dash through the door up the a-pillar and across the windshield. I hardwired GPS and sat radio and then I blew out the fuse on my head unit and had to replace that... 3 hour ordeal. It didn't help that there was already a radar detector and an old satellite radio hardwired that I needed to remove.

Having done a very complex hardwire and hitten a lot of snags, I'd say go for it. Sorry if my above post sounded a little negative, I was frustrated. Honestly, it's not that bad to do a simple radar detector hardwire. Probably 30-40 minutes with proper tools (flathead screwdriver, philips screwdriver, and a cigarette lighter socket or some other way to connect it to the 12v line)
