Use of gasket maker for fuel injector replacement...

Hello. My injectors are farked again. Two quick questions before I tackle the job:

- Injectors were replaced with a used rail 1.5 years ago. Intake and manifold plate gaskets were replaced at the time. Will I need to buy new ones since it was less than 2 years since last replaced? I'm not asking because I'm cheap, but b/c it's a long weekend here in Canada, and I have everything I need except for the gaskets, and the stealership won't open until Tue, so I might get started on it tommorrow if I can do without the gaskets.

- Do I need gasket maker for the new plenum and manfiold gaskets, or do I just need to dab some on the corners to position them before bolting down?

Thanks in advance.

The gaskets should both come up to like 14 bucks at the dealer...I think its probably about the same as gasket maker and less messy but thats just me.

If you have a VE, the lower manifolder gasket is gonna to be a lot more than $14, as i remember, they are like $30 some each from the dealer and you need two. But you should be fine using the old one.

luckily he seems to have a VG so he'll rather pay 14-20 bucks for gaskets instead of putting everything back together and finding out he's got vacuum leaks due to gaskets that only costed so much.

Thanks guys. I think I just need to dab the corners before placing the gasket. I took off some stuff tonight and will continue the work tommorrow. I broke off a bolt head that was one of 2 grounds on the air plenum, but I just bolted the ground under another bolt on top of the metal thermostat ports.
