When I start up my Max for the first time in the morning, or after a long time of not moving, the engine idles at 1300 RPM. I was wondering if other auto Maximas idle that high under those conditions? Once I get to my destination, and put it in park, the engine then idles at 700 RPM.

hmm.. mine is also high at startup, but by the time it's warmed, idle is 475-500. is that not good? seems smooth and minimal vibration still.

My 96 auto GXE does about the same. About 1200 RPM when cold and about 750 RPM after warmed up, with everything else off. The only thing I noticed is after the dealer performed 30K maintenence two months ago, the warmed-up RPM incresed a little, from 700 to 750.

Thanks for the replies guys. I just wanted to make sure that the 1300 RPM at start up was common for other Maximas.
