wtf could be wrong with my baby :(
few weeks ago i was driving my car rather spiritedly (who dosnt ) anyway, i made a hard/sharp left hand turn which kinda bounced the car, after that it became much much louder than before, still drove fine, felt fine; just at 4k rpm when the intake would begin to scream it wouldnt, it was loud through out the whole rpm range.
anyway, i drove it like that for a day, it died on me, restarted it and the cel came on, limped it home. it ran like complete dog ****, bogging really bad, jerky low throttle driving, at a dead stop it will rev till 3,000 then anything above that requires full throttle and it will go till about 4,000
plugged in a obd2 scanner, pulled a code for low maf input. borrowed my buddies maf off his 07 maxima, same connector, same housing, same everything, reset the battery over night, and it still does the same thing.......
any ideas as to wtf i did?

Service manual... (www.vq35de.com/ESM/Nissan/Maxima/)
An excessively low voltage from the sensor is sent to ECM.
Harness or connectors (The sensor circuit is open or shorted.)
Intake air leaks
Mass air flow sensor
Manual states that ECU will enter into fail safe mode and will trigger fuel cut at 2400. This would explain why the car is sluggish.
If your buddy's MAF did not help, verify continuity of wires between MAF connection and ECU. If not MAF, then it may be a full ECU failure? MAF circuit is in section EC page 200. Check the fuses, including the ones next to windshield washer fluid. Diagram shows a 15 amp fuse for ECU.
Read code again. May have more than one code.
Reading you past posts, and seeing that you had CAI issues, double check for air leaks between MAF and throttle body (EGR hose too). You said 'much louder'... Intake loud or exhaust loud? If intake noise is consistent throughout rpm range, something is loose/cracked on intake side allowing un-metered air in and intake noise out.
Otherwise.... stealership...

both intake and exhuast noise, when i went to ask my friend what he through was wrong he thought i got a catback lol, said it sounded like his friends z with the invidia n1.
the cai is fine, i guess im going to take the intake mani appart tonight and hope all is alright
pulled the codes again tonight and its the same, maf input low.

Im no expert on this as well but i had a maf die on me in my 5.5 like everyone else. i reset my ecu after swapping the maf and it was fine. did u try resetting the ecu after putting the maf in? i would try that then check the intake connections, then the maf wiring. i read an article in a mag (while i was waiting at the nissan dealership) and it said a maf works by running a voltage across the maf plane and measuring the time it takes to complete the circuit. the more air that goes in the longer it takes to complete the circuit. so for it to read low your intake might have disconnected after the maf or a snapped wire. that was in motor magazine and it was also talking about how nissan mafs seem to go bad alot lol.
Same problem with my 05 after I tried to install some cheap *** chip. Turned out that the O2 sensor still thought the chip was in it. But a simple disconnect of the battery and rewiring of the wires running from the O2 cleared it out. Good luck with it homie.
