OK I'm on my way to work today, on the freeway and surrounded by semi's and SUV's and someone throws up a huge piece of something. SLAMM right into the front of my car. I get to work and look, first I see a hole right through the bra, underneath 2 half dollar size dents and chipped paint.(my poor baby only has 1400 miles). To top everything off list night I got my AE sills and shift **** installed along with 3 hours of waxing and polishing. When I woke up this morning my baby was perfect, I should have stayed home today. Well any suggestions on fixing it(dealer or not).

try and see what a body shop says. Those sound like pretty big dents..... touch up paint will only go so far...

Call your insurance company immediately. It's covered by your comprehensive coverage and it WON'T increase your premium to have it fixed. How do I know? It just happened to me.

Yeah but what about his deductible..If his deductible is $500 or even $250, it would be pointless to go through insurance.

Ouch, I feel for you man. Same thing happened to me on the side of the car with some big rock, made a nice half dollar sized dent in my door and took the paint right off.

call your insurance!

You won't find someone to repair the kind of damage you've described for less than $250, so assuming you paid the few extra dollars to get a low deductible, that is your best bet. So sorry to hear of that incident! Why do these things happen when you have new car? I can drive my old beater and nothing happens...drive my new one, and seems as if it is a debris magnet.

Good luck!

Possibly. But I wouldn't second guess what the costs will be. If shf0717 wants to, he could get a couple of repair estimates before contacting his insurance company. But if that's what he wants to do, I'd suggest he get on with it. Insurance companies like to have incidents reported promptly.

I have deductible of 250, My best guess is it will cost at least that to get fixed. I think I will go to the dealer at lunch tomorrow get an estimate the call the insurance company. It will be interesting to see how much they want, I figure that they(Nissan) will be the highest. so if they want less than 250 then I'll shop around or maybe just let them do it. any bets on how much it will be. (2 half dollar size dents about 1/8" deep and chipped paint font the front of the hood and to top it off a hole in my bra)

Best guess, $600.00 to $800.00.

cost of repair

ultimately, you gotta get estimates as you know. However, my experience is that I had two minor dents in my roof panel just over the passenger door and into the style-line area. It cost $200 and there was no painting involved. They had to remove the headliner and drop the sunroof to get to the dents. So, by your description, you are going to be way past $200 real fast. Just to replace your bra if it is badly damaged is more than $100.

Good luck. Hope it turns out well for you. srm

Hey to bring back an old thread but...

RussMaxManiac - This same type of thing happened to me this morning. Not sure if it was a bird or a rock, but it left a small dent, and took some paint off. The irony is, last night I installed a bug deflector (I guess this doesn't work on birds

Anyhow, how did everyone get this resolved, and what am I looking at cost wise. One nickel sized dent in hood, plus paint???

My deductible is kind of high (DOH!), but its wasn't just a couple of bucks to bring it down for me, so I opted not too...
