WTS: Lower Tie Bar 5th Gen $75+ Shipping

I had a few extra made when I had mine done. They are made of solid 3/4 inch round bar and 1/4 plate steel. They were fabricated by a professional with over 25 years experience. They might not be sexy but they fit and work perfectly.

tie bar

Ok guys I got some pics. Here is a small write up about my impressions. This will fit 5 and 5.5 generation Maxima's with out headers. It gives plenty of ground clearance as you can see by the pics.
You will have to drop the drivers side control arm because the angle of the gussets. It is pretty easy just loosen the 4 bolts holding the gusset to the subframe. it should take 10 minutes top at a shop.
I could tell the minute I drove it out of the lot there was a difference. The turn in was much quicker. The biggest difference is hard to descibe but the intersection of my street and a main street has ruts in the black top from all the traffic and is slightly down hill. My car used to hate going across those ruts. Now I can feel the car just just turn and float over them. It is hard to explain. On ramps around here are also bumpy and rutted but this thing keeps the wheels parallel to each other and perfectly perpendicular to the road so you keep more of the flat section of the tire on the road and less on the edges and side wall. This gives you better traction and less push.

Tie bar

Good luck trying to get in touch with Matt and getting it sent to you. I tried and tried to order one. No offense to Matt. I figured I might as well have one made along with a few extra. This one is also made of solid bar and not hollow tube that will fill up with water and what not.

Hmm, that's funny. I'm still around. just working 70+ hours a week and moved into a new house last month. I'm doing the best I can to keep up. I have a batch of 15 5th gen stage IIs sitting in my driveway right now, and all the emails I've sent out about them never get responded to. so it's a two way street......

FYI, the solid bar just makes the LTB heavier, not stronger. The bending stresses are carried through the outer edge of the tubing, not the center. also, a hollow tube shouldn't ever fill up with water unless the welds on the end aren't continuous.

Hi Matt,
I have nothing but respect for you and everything you have done for the org and the maxima community. I am not trying to steal your business. I know you are jam packed with everything going on. I only had a few of these made. When I had one done for myself. Trust me when I say I am not making any money on these things.
