hey,

not sure, but since i've taken mine off i've noticed more low end power, gets up to speed quicker 2
Just bore some holes in the resonator below the battery. Keeps the holes away from the radiator. If you want to get working get some shop vac hose and run it from areas with cool air (ie fender well) up to the bottom of the air box. Drill the same size holes in the box and seal it with RTV. If you do it right it will looks stock and perform very well. I had 2 large vac hoses and 1 small vac hose in a past setup. Just keep hot under hood temps OUT.
All 4th gen intakes are the same except for early 95's which have a 3rd resonator off the mid pipe. The location of the air temp sensor is different from 95/96 and 97-99 but that doesnt matter when hacking.

I hacked my airbox a while ago, car felt slightly more sluggish off the line. Maybe a placebo? Sounded better though. Now I'm running a PR style CAI with a K&N air filter with the stock resonator. IMO, one of the better intake setups. It feels better now.
Mod it this way: go out and buy a K&N drop-in and keep it stock. I think that's probably your best choice for dollar, unless you want to get a Place Racing CAI, because that's got the best design for CAI's.
Just Leave it alone, The Gains arent enough to make it very worthwhile
to give it to you straight, It doesnt seems to have a little less low end power in gear one just coming off the line, the high RPM gains are noticable
The other fact is, your engine will sound Nice, (depending on how you diffine nice)
It will have a quite noticible roaring sound at WOT
But trust me, that can get annoying. because its non stop, I recently just purshaced a CAI, and you get that same roaring, but only at WOT, you dont seem to loose any low end power, and it looks beautiful underneath the hood
