Blown Rear KYB AGX

Both of my rear struts have blown(yes the ride is VERY bouncy). They are KYB AGX. I would send them back since it does have a "lifetime" warrenty but I don't have a receipt or even remember where I bought them, it was about 6 yrs ago.

Anyway, I really don't want to put more KYBs on so I was gonna buy a cheaper brand fron Advance Auto or something. What I need to know is, if I do get the cheaper ones will they be ok with the H&R drop? I would hate for them to blow also.

Why don't you call them and see what they say. I had a failed Bilstein (really old at the time too) and they sent a replacement before I took the old one off.

If you don't adjust them frequently, I would go with non-adjustable type, simpler is better.

I never did adjust them so I probably will go non-adjustable.
I sent an email to KYB and they said I would need the receipt and take it back where I bought them. Which I don't even remember where that was. I was just hoping that a brand that cost less will hold up under a little drop.

Do it right the 1st time? KYBs are the wrong way to go? I don't think so.
Anyway, when I was bought these back in 2001 the KYBs were what everybody was saying to get. I'm not looking to go "cheaper" but less costly.

The KYB HPs were pretty cheap, especially the rear ones.
