So after having the Altima SE-R FSB along with the Racingline MMI in my closet for a long time, I finally got them installed, along with the Nissanworks IMS
Install was done by a Nissan Mechanic that most definitely hooked me up on pricing and was a very cool guy.
The IMS took roughly 2.5 hours to do and that's because the tech had pretty big hands and couldn't get to the 2 bolts holding the IM on in the back, which he just took off the whole windshield wiper assembly and got to them easily. Only problem that we ran into with this is that the ELBOW spacer came with new extended bolts, but the bolts didn't thread in, so we just used the stock bolts which still had plenty of tread left on them. Another thing being what seemed to be an extension for a hose that we ended up not using because we didn't know what it was for and there was no obvious need for it, and the instructions didn't specify anything about it. All in all, a relatively easy job for the tech on this one.
FSB and MMI were a slight PITA, both for me, a helper and most of all for the tech. The entire sub-frame was taken off and lowered to get easy access to both front and rear MMI along with the FSB. The MMI went in, but were little *****es and had to be lubed and forced in. The FSB was good as well, but I was a little disappointed that the Energy Suspension bushings that I bought for the bar did not fit. The brackets that came with it didn't line up with the holes and the bushings itself wouldn't fit in the OEM bracket, so we just ended up using the SE-R brackets and bushings and the biatch was good! Lowering and raising the sub-frame required 3 people to do, but it was done.
After all of that was done, I got all wheels balanced, my transmission "flushed," as in drained-filled-ran for a few minutes and repeated 3 times until the liquid was cherry red. When he first drained the fluid it was more of a burgundy color
My sun-roof "reset" and got the "thunk" sound fixed when it closes. Got my timing advanced 2 degrees which helps out in highway driving (mid-top end), and I will most likely get a new grill for free, when I didn't even mention anything, but the tech noticed and was like "hey, you want a new grill for free?" I was like
So in the end I got quite a few things done in a matter of 6 hours:
IMS
FSB
MMI
Transmission flush
Sun-roof reset and thunking fixed
Wheels balanced
Advanced timing
All for a price of $230..................
Good stuff, ya?
And further testing will occur within the next few days for the 3 main mods

- IMS enhances the whistle of the intake at around 3300 RPM and I still have to do some more runs on open road to notice the gains.
- FSB definitely makes the car feel more solid in the turns, not a miracle transformation from a Maxima to a Z06, but noticeable.
- MMI make the idle extremely minimally "vibrate" the the cabin, but I mean almost unnoticeable
- Transmission shifts smooth as butter now
- Sun-roof opens and closes FULLY with no thunking...for now
- No more slight shimmy at higher speeds
- And I definitely feel the quick "pop" of minor power from the advanced timing
And further testing will occur within the next few days for the 3 main mods

I want to run at a track but not sure when or if I will anytime soon.
I do both........FULL TIME
School=taken care of by a scholarship that I was fortunate to get because I am the schools mascot and all I have to pay for is books and taxes

Work=I've worked since the day I turned 15, not because I was forced, but because I WANTED TO. Two grocery stores in about a 1.5 year span then a Chevrolet dealership for about 15 months and now I am making a greater amount working at Woodfield Hummer as a detailer

I have always been one to watch how I spend my money (I shop around or look for bargains more than the ordinary person probably) and always save and then have a splurge here and there while still maintaining my bank account. And all the mods on my car have been purchased by me, but the car I was fortunate enough to have my dad buy for me because he bought a brand new car for my sister at 16, so it was only fair to get me a car at 17 with a little more money, which I paid for some as well

that's my story, now back on topic

I wonder if the NISMO f/r sway bars would have had a better effect than the SE-R/Progress

Step 8 of my instructions says:
Undo the two coolant hoses on the bottom of the Elbow near the Throttle Body and install the coolant bypass fitting, connecting the IN and the OUT coolant hose.
The Elbow is the metal tube that connects the Throttle Body to the Upper Intake Manifold. Near the Throttle Body, on the Elbow, there are two coolant hoses. Disconnect those two coolant hoses from the Elbow, then use the fitting to attach them together.
Also, about the Elbow bolts not threading in, I don't know what the problem is. You told me the bolts aren't damaged. But they are definitely the correct thread and pitch. This is the first time I've heard anything about this. My guess is that the Elbow Spacer and manifolds were not properly aligned, preventing the bolts from threading in at that moment. I don't know what else it could be if the threads aren't damaged in anyway. But, if for any reason you need new bolts, please let me know and I will rush another set out to you immediately.
TO ALL LOOKING AT THE NISSANWORKS IMS...............do not let any of my "problems" make you think twice about this mod, they were purely negligence on my side and nothing on Aaron's side except for the utmost care and communication about his product.
for Aaron once again.
Oh and since the ECU "learned" (I think that's a word?) the new mod, it has definitely been a noticeable gain-the throttle response is MUCH better and I have to give less gas, otherwise it'll keep going and it feels like VTAC kicks in at around 4000rpm!!!

You should definitely feel the biggest gain right when the VIAS kicks in around 4K. It's a solid 10hp and 12ft-lbs increase right around that point.
I'm glad everything is ok.
