I am cocidering the setup that JSutter described in his thread
setup is:
Stillen Camber plates
Ground Control coilovers
Eibach springs (450 front/360ish rear)
Shortened 4th gen Koni yellow fronts
4th gen Koni yellow rears
OEM upper rear mounts

Can someone put the picture together for me of how all these parts come together, for example what do the camber plates do... Ground control coil overs have springs on them already so why Eibach springs are in the list?

Mainly i want to build a shopping list of parts i need to buy and have a (mental) picture of how they come together.

Stillen Camber plates- Good luck finding these
Ground Control coilovers- Easy enough
Eibach springs (450 front/360ish rear)- These are the GC springs, which are made by Eibach. You do NOT want "regular" Eibach 4th gen maxima springs. You get 'em with the GCs. Just be sure to order the right spring rates.
Shortened 4th gen Koni yellow fronts- Buy, shorten, prosper.
4th gen Koni yellow rears- Buy, prosper.
OEM upper rear mounts- You have these already.

Do i need something to adjust the Camber and what are my options other than the Stillen Camber plates.

Stillen camber plates are no longer made. You can use camber bolts as a work-around.

 

Do i need to weld the front perch for the GC coilovers?

I had a no name coil over kit laying around. I took the sleeves from that which were longer. The fronts are actually both the GC and a trimmed sleeve from the other kit to make it the whole length of the housing and rest on the lower mounting flange. If I had a welder when I made them I would have made a perch at the correct height. I painted everything black, but they were red. The isolators are from the spare kit too. They are very thick and bigger around. They dont move or get pinched like others I have used. Too bad I dont know the brand. "

if you look at the pic
You can see that the big perch that was there with OEM is gone and he has a long sleeve from another kit instead. GC's have short sleeves so i am not sure what they should sit on in the front.

 

Good question. You could PM him and send him a link to this thread. I think that that would be good info. I have installed GCs on AGX before and we did not need to weld anything, but I don't know if that changes with the Konis, since they use the OEM strut housing.

I would try calling GC as well. They know that a lot of people run Konis with their sleeves, so they may have info.

 

Did you ever find out an answer to this question? I wondered the same thing myself. I'm interested in this setup but I don't want to have to weld a perch onto the stock strut mount for the GC to sit on. The safe handling of the car would be relying on my welding! That bothers me.
