Car Violently Shaking.

Since I got my car it's been violently shaking and the check engine light has been on. The shaking happens every other time I drive the car, so it's not constant- but even when its idling it shakes (but not as much as when accelerating) I've taken it to 5 different mechanics, theyve all said different things.

One stated fuel injectors (which are now clean)
Spark plugs
Exhaust/Muffler
One of the pistons
Tires need rotation/alignment (which just got done)

And a hell of alot more that I can't even remember.

Now, i'm asking the real experts- you guys.

Why the hell does my car violently shake at times?

Is the SES light illuminated? If so, check the codes and report back. The procedure for the 99 is a little different than other years because the screw is much smaller.

If it is too much of a hassle to find a small screwdriver, then violently shake your buttocks down to your nearest AutoZone and have them check the codes.

My guess is that it's misfiring. And my otehr gues would be that if it is misfiring, you need new coils.

A problem somewhat consistent with 99's.

On a car I had years ago, one spark plug wire was bad, and it made the whole car shudder like hell. I'd say a misfire also.

Oh, ok, you had us scared for a minute there!

I have used coils that have been tested by running, 4 are hanshin (nissan), 2 are aftermarket (sti), none are the crappy mitsubishi coils used on the '99's. I'll give you the entire set for $65 shipped. Paypal is Kevgoods@hotmail.com

haha what do new coils have to do with lowering your car? Why would you have to lower it at the same time? haha
