What's it mean by "no instrumented testing"? And if an engine is used in different applications, how can I find out which application was an engine rated on?

I think the VQ was a great motor back in 1994--190 HP at the time, and 27 mpg, wow! But today, you can see it evolved into 306 and what 330 in the G37? But the torque is weak and it lacks direct injection and has poor fuel economy...it needs some new motronics to be considered very good or great for the 2k8 model year imho.

This engine is pretty torque-y for me anyway, I don't know about you and the condition of your engine. Mine is running tip-top.....

Weak torque? I don't think so. . .maybe you're comparing bottom end to something with pushrods... like a V8. Granted, it doesn't have the MOST, but it should also be pointed out that even with honda's motors putting out better specs, by the end of the 1/4mi the VQ has won and it's still pulling surprisingly well. the new HR variant is made for more Revs which imo = more fun. The fuel econ hasn't changed mostly due to CVTs, and most people here, even on the 4AT can get better mpg than the sticker. heck, I used to get 32mpg running down a full tank on long trips. and I was averaging over 70mph.

lol.....First of all I never claimed to be an engine guru. This forum is an information gathering tool. I have long since sold my maxima but still troll this forum cuz I love maximas and suport this community still to this day. Instead of being childishly condescending, why dont you share some knowledge? I really don't mind being wrong and corrected, I learn know things every day.
