I had a little run in with a TL-S tonight on the way home from the airport. I picked up my sister there, so I had a passenger. We were cruising southbound on I-95 out of Philly, I happened to get behind a TL-S and we were zig zagging out of moderate traffic, nothing big, I would get in front, then him, we did this for about 20 miles or so until we both took 495 South, from there traffic disappeared. We had a totally open road ahead of us, and from about 60 MPH we both nailed it WOT, basically, to make a long story short, it was over as soon as we started. He ended up shutting it down when I hit 125-130MHP, I was too nervous to take my eyes off the road. It was quite a specticle, he completely backed off and didn't even try to catch up with me when I slowed to the speed limit. I was sooo proud of my 5spd. So, I think we can conclude that a STOCK, 5spd Max can take a STOCK TL-S, I assume it was stock at least. All this before I install my Y-pipe, that I just received today by UPS. Oh boy, I can wait. This wasa the fastest I have taken my Max to before, it was rather fun. Let the campfire roar with flames.

Represent man, show those TL-S's we're better. As for him being scared, my *** would be scared too driving at 130 in a cheap a$$ acura which is no more than a honda with rims and hid's. BTW I'm still upset for those TL-S guys calling a Maxima ugly oh yah and they kicked me off their forum how could they!

Wanna talk about kahunas?

It was me vs a V6 Accord vs. Passat, on a 2-lane highway. I was behind the passat going about 60 (trying to resist the urge to stomp the gas). An accord was flying past us at about 75 and the passat wasn't havin' that so he sped up with me behind him. Over about a half mile all three of us were doing 110 about 5 feet away from each other. I couldn't find an opening cause both cars were next to each other. We all climbed again to 125 when the passat started to back down just enough for me to eke past a lane. That's when gunned it (surprised the Max still had kick at that high a speed) and crept past the accord. Entry speed to the Pulaski Skyway before braking? 132 mph. Sweeeeet

Nice kill...

now I wonder how an STOCK AUTO Maxima will fare against a STOCK TL-S. Fair?

Cheap-*** Acura? Hmmm...I think they cost more than Maxima.

Not a flame.

I was dead even with a TL-S when I had no mods. Haven't bumped into one after I installed my mods.
Just waiting to see the Type-S guys here...

Well, my friend has a 2001 Maxima SE 5-speed and we've raced off the line to 100 MPH twice now. Each time I had him beat by about 3-4 car lengths to 100mph (and yes, he is an awesome stick driver). After driving his car though at speeds over 100 mph, i have to say the max 5-speed has a lot of ***** once the speedometer hits triple digits. The thing that sucks about the TL-S is that the first three gears are spaced closely, but 4th and 5th are overdrive gears. Just to illistrate how ****ty 4th gear is, 4th gear in my TL-S covers from 107 MPH all the way to the governer at 150 MPH. You don't even need to get into 5th to hit the governer at 150mph.

Here they come...
BTW, nice kill Matticus... even though none of the Type-S guys will believe you.
I can see the excuses coming now...

It was a TL with the Type-S badge on it.
Was he really racing you?
The guy did not know how to drive.
The car was not broken in.
Matticus is running NOS.

And of course, the famous last words:
The Maxima is a piece of sh*t! You guys can not afford a Acura TL Type-S!

Just thought I would save you Type-S guys some time...

Ok, I'll say it. Anyone that owns any of the following cars has good taste, and they are all fast. NOTE:Please excuse the lack of American and Euro nameplates. V6 Camry and ES300, IS300, Accord V6 and TL-P/S, Galant V6(yes I know, but its getting there), Maxima/I30, Millenia/626 V6.
