Exhaust crossmember, do I need it?

Since I put on my Greddy SP2 yesterday I noticed on some bumps the B-pipes hits the small crossmember near the middle of the car thats located right under the pipe. Gonna try to bend it later today, but was wondering if bending does not solve the issue, can I just remove it? Any cons to removing it?

Not really. Is it too close or do the hangers just let it ding into it?

I think its there just in case the b breaks off, so it doesnt hit the ground.

The hangers are tight. tightened them with some hose clamps (some trick I saw at a muffler shop). The B-pipe is just too close I guess.

I had same problem. I took the crossmember off, bent it to fit around new exhaust. All good.

I cut mine off with a torch one day because I got frustrated while taking off my exhaust. You will be fine without it.
