Starter Question - Photos Inside!

My dad removed my starter for me last week, but we can't remember where the photo A connects to photo B. We have a 50/50 chance of being correct, but just want to be certain before we put it back in. Thanks!

Photo A

Photo B

If you could just post if it connects to 1 or 2 (Marked in the photos) I'd appreciate it. Thanks Guys.

Number one is for battery cable, number two connects the solenoid to the motor, you can see the connecting wire already there.

Clean those connections too.

If you connect the battery cable straight to the starter cable by attaching them both to the same pole on the solenoid then you will be effectively bypassing the solenoid... The starter will run until you disconnect the cable, burn out the motor or run out of battery power.
