idle pulley nut
What are some of the tools you use to loosen the idle pulley nut. About a year ago I had trouble taking it off and ended up using a plumbers wrench to unloosen it. I replaced the pulley entirely that time.
Today I changed my alternator and tried the same approach but the nut is completely stripped now and have no hope of ever removing it unless I use a blow torch.
I'm just wanting to get a census of how people deal with that PIA nut.

Well honestly, after is has been butchered there is really no set way to remove it, just use whatever means that work. Could be vice grips, channel locks, torch or whatever. If you are lucky, the pulley is not covering the three 12mm bolts that hold th entire assembly on. If not, then just remove the bracket and all. It will then be out of the car where you could get to it better.

Thanks. I replaced the alternator already. Just removed the bolts on the AC Compressor. But just wanted to get a feeling b/c I never have luck with that damn bolt. It always gets stripped.
