Retro-Fit Projectors...E-46

Thanks to Happy4444 for doing the retro-fit. They really came out nice. I just have to to aim them and I'll be set. The output is amazing.

Let me know what you guys think.

Stock is usually ~4200k.

The retrofit came out nice, Im in the process of retroing e46's w/ a custom shield out of an Audi TT into my headlights. Aim them and get some night pics up! Did you make your own harness or order a premade one? BTW are your e46's singles or bi-xenon?

Wow that looks awesome, I'm waiting for night shots of the output and so forth.

Also just my personal preference but I think you should spraypaint your FMIC and IC piping black for that stealth look.

Matt, what bezels are those? I need a new set, my old ones are haggard looking because they used to have angel eyes on them. Yours fit perfectly! (I have the same projectors, btw)

Second pic the high beams are on but so is the flash. Pictures really do no justice of width and distance, but you get a slight idea.

I tried going tonight and aiming them and then to take some pics and it didnt go all that well. Seems that the screws on the black housing for aiming arent doing all that much for adjusting. I have to look and see if anything is rubbing...man o man

see if the guy that did youre retro used springs behind the bolts that hold the projector in the housing. this is how they are usually adjusted. this is one of the reasons why i did my own retro. know you have to figure out something you didnt have your hands on to begin with if im not mistaken. aiming shouldnt be that difficult as long as the projectors are mounted level and you have sometype of spring with a wing nut to move the projector. as you move the nut the spring tension will move the projector in or out or slanted depending on where the mounting bolts are. good luck.

Don't the stock aimers do anything on this retrofit?

The stock aimers do really nothing but very fine adjustments and the rear of the Projector is filled with JB weld so I really cant adjust the projector itself.

Now what do I do ??

Sounds like you might need to redo them. I would take a dremel and cut a fine section to seprate the projector from the housing.
Then adjust the actual headlights using the black OEM aiming screws so that the headlights sit normal looking in there housings and flush with the bumper and grill. Then aim the projectors themselves using the mounting screws. Once you get them aimed correctly you can seal them up again with either JB weld or a black silicone. Silicone is a bit easier to remove in the event you have to get at the projectors again in the future for some reason.

make sure the black clip holding the adjustment screw is properly in place.

Sometimes when you bring them close to maximum out, they will get stuck and wont allow for adjustment.

Where is the black clip your talking about ??

Im still haveing a hard time aiming them. Seems no matter how far I move the black 8mm adjuster, the beam doesnt move at all up or down. Now my pass side is out for some reason. ALWAYS PROBLEMS !!!..lol
