2002 SE Alarm Horn Keeps Beeping

Noticed about a month ago that while the car is just sitting off in the garage the alarm horn, which I guess is the horn, beeps intermittenly. I don't see any lights flash when it happens. I changed the batteries in both key remotes but it still does it. Any suggestions on wht might be causing this and how I should approach a possible repair?

I think that's your car telling you that you need to get your *** in gear and take her for a drive lol.

Maybe it's a faulty remote, not just the batteries. Either that, or the actual system actuater is fried. Does the alarm still work? If you roll down the windows, then turn the alarm on; if you open the door from the inside does the alarm go off?

I will test that scenerio, but the other day my wife tripped the alarm and had some problems turning it off. That could have been a user error knowing my wife.

Dealership.....NOOOooooooooooooooooo

I love my Maxima too much to take it to a dealership. How about an alarm specialist?

I had that problem with my 01 Max AE, the alarm (horn and lights would flash) would go off when ever I accidentally leave my map light, or the dome light on. My solution was to change the lights to LEDs (I guess they drained less power, but a lot brighter and whiter) and it some how stopped doing that. I didn't even change the remotes so that was not the cause of the problem.

Going to the dealership is a hassle, having to talk to the guy at the desk who doesn't really know the answer unless he go and ask the technician in the back. Did i mention the long *** wait.

Does anyopne know how I can disable the alarm without disabling the door locks? I have not taken it to the dealer yet and this thing is going nuts in my garage. Thanks,

I was having a problem with the false alarm thing. I removed all the door switched including the truck and hood switches. Took them apart and cleaned with electrical contact cleaner and a small brush, applied a bit of dielectric grease to relube, reinstall. Have not a a problem since.
