i know its been done to death... but someone gimme opinions on these 9004s??

are any of these worth it?

i do not have the money to pursue the actual hid conversion route, and i need new headlights..

i did do a bunch of searching, but most of the stuff i found was years and years old (i found posts from thebigsadler and araffio!!) and i'm trying to decide if any of these ebay 9004s are worth getting. they say they're 65/45 watts, some have warranties, so i think they should be ok.. someone wanna gimme some input... thanks

i know that nokyas have a history of burning out harnesses, etc.. but these bulbs all say they have an OEM wattage draw for the lights.. i just went to ebay and typed in 'hyper white maxima 9004' or something like that, and i'd like some input on good 9004s to get that look bluish, but still have good light output..if such a combination exists..

thanks

don't waste your time, do a 9007 conversion instead.

No bluish + good light output exists. Contradicting terms. Making light blue means you are filtering all the other good, visible light colors that add up to make white light. Not even HIDs have good output in the higher (more colorful) colors.

Additionally, Maxima headlights are weak sauce already so you'd be compounding the problem further. I say get the strongest 9004 in white or do a white 9007 conversion. Colors=filtering=reduced light output=rice

I have experience with the Nokya's, not the luminics. I had several sets of the Nokya's, they burnt out regularly every 1-3 months when I had my '95, this was with an upgraded harness that was independent of the OEM harness. I realized that even though these lights may have a warranty, the lights are still crap. Usually the companies require you to pay shipping both ways and include some $$$ for a warranty replacement. All in all, the warranties are not worth anything. If you want them, try to get them as cheap as you can and keep a couple extra sets on hand when (not if) they burn out.

I did this a while back and put in a set of Cool Blues. I must say I couldn't be any happier. My 9007 blues give me so much more light than my 9004 PIAA superwhites ever did.

I used to use MTEC overwatted bulbs. Mtec has 2 lines. 1 line of products uses stock wattage. The other was overwatted, I think mine were 80/100, I'll check when I get home. Anyways, I never melted any harnesses, I think it's cuz I use dielectric grease on the contacts. Oh, I bought my MTEC from ebay with lifetime warranty... the seller was 1mile away, in case I needed replacement.

I had Nokyas on another car and never had a problem.

If you want to buy from local auto stores then go for Cool blues or Silver stars. It works better than stock bulbs (yellowish). No worry about burning harness or anything. Personally I used PIAA bulbs and had good luck with them.
