How to tell if power antenna is Working

So the other day the antenna made a loud noise and now doesnt work. well thats not too bad i can play cds but id like to fix it. Is ther a way i can test if the motors good or not? Im guessing its not but if i dont have to buy one i dont want too. If i go to the junkyard and get one wat years will fit my 92? will all 89-94s or what? Also i hear no noise when i put the radio on so the gear in there is probably fine.

If you can hear the motor working when you turn on your car/ radio your antenna motor works. Usually the motor outlives the antenna mast by a long time and I'm guessing that's what's wrong with yours.

Get on ebay and search for 1989-1994 Nissan Maxima Antenna and you'll find one for like $30. Chances are the junkyard one's are bad as well.

damn, central and what, i used to go to portage park all the time.

well anyways when i was at victory (not the greatest place) they had one that i pulled from a max and it had tension in the antenna meaning that gear wasnt broke but i didnt wanna chance it and buy it.
