Has anyone gotten the grill painted yet?? I have been reading around and see that people have been interested, but does not seem like anyone did. I only recall one White Max with a painted grill. Looked really good I thought! I have a Sterling Mist, so I think it should look good if painted that color.
Also, has anyone painted their Splash guards car color? I know some come painted from the dealer, like th AE ones... Would using the touch up paint do the job on the guards?
Would it look good if I painted the grill using the touch up paint? (I know I would need a lot more then one 1/2oz tube)
Any feedback appreciated!

You can get the pre-painted ones for a non-AE car. If you use touch-up paint, it'll come out really streaky. Your best bet is to order the pre-painted ones from Nissan, or to go to a body shop and have them painted. I know Irvine78 (icelandic pearl) painted his at a shop.

I would like to paint my grille also, good prep work is the key.Touch up paint might be availible in a small spray can,you will need the paint code. You can get that with the VIN#.As far as painting the splash guards,I decided not to, because if for any reason you flex the guard, the paint will crack.Hope I helped you.James

I don't recomemnd painting the mud guards yourself, take them to a body shop to get them done good. I tried, and the paint had a hard time sticking, even though it was sanded down, ruined 2 flaps . I am gonna take them to my friend who owns a body shop he will redo them. He said there is special plastic coating that you spray on there first to help paint stick to it....

Well.. I posted a thread previously about why my car came with a grille that was painted the same color as my car but it turns out that I thought everyone elses grille was black, but in reality they were gray. Well my car is grey lustre..so it really is the same color as my grille. I had to get close to a couple of other maximas to notice that their grilles were grey not black. And my splash guards are painted..but they came like that..on the sticker price sheet..it says painted splash gurards.

That's kinda expensive. I paid only $75 for my AE pre-painted ones.

Where'd you order your splashguards from? Do you think Nissan will let me return it and order it from somewhere else?

Depends on where your ordered it from, some places charge a restocking fee...then it might not be worth it. Put them up on eBay or something if you want. I got mine from Town North Nissan, c/o Dave Burnette. 1-800-251-7278.

If you purchased FOUR, then that is not a bad price. I paid $82 per axle, or something close to that.

Guys, if you are really serious

Call/email Dave B. I checked with him and its about 83-85 dollars shipped. So if you want factory painted mudflaps, he is your man. I have dealt with him before and he is great!

I dunno if anyone would pay that much, but when I called my dealer to price the regular black ones, they said it was $115. And I was like, whoa. The black ones came free with the car. So I can see where $140 was the price for the prepainted ones. The only reason that some dealerships like Town North can afford to sell it cheaper is that they move a huge volume, but make a smaller profit. Your dealer, like my dealer, probably doesn't sell that many "accessories" to consumers so when they do, they have to mark it up a lot.

Grill

I've seen the stock grill painted Sterling Mist, and it's really not eye catching. i only happen to notice it because i'm a maxima enthusiast and i was standing right in front of it.

I saw white yesterday...it looked nasty, the squarish part behind the actual grille is all white and makes the front end all messy looking
