K&N makes a pretty trick filter. they also have that filter relocation kit that also adds more oil capacity to the car.

K&N exclusively... their "gold" series filters.. alot of parts stores carry em (I work at Advance and we have a whole shelf full of em.. I know my VG part # is HP-2008.. not sure on VQ's).. I went and grabbed one of mine out the garage.. of interest to you the stuff on the box says..

1" nut for removal (this is a really nice feature .. hand tighten.. then when you go to take it off just slip a 1" socket on it and back it off ...)

provides over 550PSI hydrostatic burst strength

anti drainback valve (like that reccomended by nissan for use on the max's)

lowest pressure drop flows 12-16GPM

10-20 Micron Filter

over 150,000 pressure impluse fatigue cycles (2.5 times more durable than other filters)

90% efficient (more than any other filter)

UNAFFECTED BY RACING FUELS

I went with em the first time I saw em because I knew what they did for air filters... after seeing the anti-drainback valve feature and the 1" nut I was sold.. really nicely made too.. they feel "sturdy" not cheap like frams, purolators, etc...

Yep, I'm pretty impressed with KN oil filter. I've bought 1 dozen for my Integras but STILL LOOKING H-A-A-A-RD for the VQ oil filter. If you have VQ part #, please help.

Just curious, is there a difference in VE and VQ engine oil filter ?

I know that this is overkill but I use Canton Racing filters

It is an machined aluminum body powder coated(heavy duty) that accepts cartirdge style filters. Filters down to 8 microns with an anti drain back valve. I use this with redline oil. The filter was like 80 bucks and the replacement filters are about 6 check it out at http://www.cantonracing.com/spin-on.cfm#specs

Here's a website to check out

This site has some good info on filter brands and construction matters. They also try to determine which filters are made by which manufacturer.

Like anything else, take it FWIW:

Mobil 1, Pure One and the K&N's seem to be favorites.
