I have had the battery disconnected for about 12 hours now, and wonder if I should also do it the direct method, via the instructions at the vbmaxima site. If I do, do I have to have the battery connected to reset the ecu, or can I just do it as is? Daniel?

Im pretty sure you have to have the battery connected, a lot of people have said that disconnecting the battery never seems to work on resseting the ECU, just do it with a screw driver it is really easy. It doesnt look like you need directions because you got them off of another site but if you do let me know. Take Care

Connect the battery, then reset the Engine Control Module per the vbmaxima site.

Reset done....

While doing the reset I noticed something. When I did the full clockwise turn, you can hear a hiss and a clicking/ticking. It is very faint, but you can hear it. This sound is very helpful lin letting you know if you are doing it right. The first time I did it I didn't hear anything, but redid the process again to be sure. Then in hearing the sound and being able to repeat it I was sure something was happening. Just a little tidbit.

PS I didn't start the car. I will leave the ECU reset/as is till in the morning when I go to work, and give it a good run to see what I can get it to "learn". Once again thanks all!
