Hey Gang!!
It's been a while since I've been on the site, but I did get the chance to test drive an 02 max in that light greenish color. Went to have my car serviced so my saleman tossed me the keys!! (Somethin to do while I waited).
It was a fast test drive (about a mile an a half).
I cranked the ignition and everything feels smooth...just like my 01 max.
I press down on the gas a little and she gives a rumble...just like my 01 max.
I get on the street and stomp the accelerator and their seems to be a little hesitation before power kicks in...not like my 01 max.
Brakes stop and feel...just like my 01 max.
My verdict...it drives like a max, smells like a max, and looks like a max...but I will keep my 01 max and wait for 2003 model max!!
Why spend the money when my car is probibly a little better, despite the 38hp gain. I'll mod mine!!

Ya know, it's really strange. I go to my local dealer, in the Bay Area, and they say maybe next year we will have some. Then this past week i took a road trip down to Las Vegas, and saw two different '02 Maximas. Whats up with that. I didn't like how the lug nuts are exposed on the SE model, i like them covered up like my '00 better. But the taillights looked friggin' tight! They shoulda made the signal part clear tho, then i would've upgraded to them. Ah well, maybe next time.

The brakes on the 00-01 models suck. If Nissan didn't upgrade the 02 with bigger, better, and less fade resistant discs, I'm not interested in the 02 models at all.

Is the 02 the one with the bigger engine and the optional 6-speed?
