I went to arlington nissan to talk to the dumb *** that dropped my car. I wanted the fuel-cut TSB done and he told me it would cost $60, so I told him to f-off. When I left I drove around the lot and saw 4 02 Altima's, so of course I went back in and said I wanted to drive the V6 and they said OK. very smooth and very quick, the car had no options. The ride is so much better than our cars, I might take the plunge and go to a fully loaded Altima.

why would they want to charge you , are you under 36k and 3 years? Didn't they do enough good will for you when they dropped your car? Definetly worth getting done , even if you paid for it (mine was real bad) but no way should you pay!!!

Mark

What were the official things that were done for you since the "drop" ?

Option packages are weird, at least according to Nissan's site. If you get leather with a 5speed, you can't get most options. If you choose the automatic transmission with leather, you have to choose between ABS/Sideairbags or HID's or none. Can't have both?!? You have to get a sunroof with the HID's and I (THINK) you must have the spoiler also. I think they are ripping off potential buyers with these packages.

That Opal Blue with frost interior with 5speed, sunroof, spoiler, HIDs, ABS/Side airbags, Bose looks like a great deal for 26K though I only wish Frost interior is available with leather but I love the brush aluminum-like trims.

This is "the" car for the year 2002???

And anti-lock bakes are not standard??? GM has had anti-lock brakes standard on some of their cheapest models for years! Nissan is optioning the Altima to death!

Another thing: I am sorry but I absolutely cannot see myself paying what Nissan wants for the Altima because it is an ALTIMA ! Even though it is in some ways better than our Maxes in 3.5SE form, I feel that the last gen Altima ('98-'01) has simply tarnished that particular name. Nissan should have named this car something else.... Can't imagine paying 26-27K for an Altima ...sorry!

I agree about the Altima image. The Altima does not have sporty past of the Maxima and that is why I'm pulled to the Max. Nissan understands this, that is why they said in their interview that some Maxima buyers would never consider the Altima.

Sorry to hear that the dealer is not taking care of the damages. Have you tried to get in contact with a Regional or District service manager? And if any dealer refuses to do a repair job you write to the manufacture a certified letter and tell them of the situation... Check your Private Messages

"Ultimatum"...LMFAO! Very inventive! Although, it needs that 'a' at the end to make it classic Nissan material "Ultimatuma".

Standard or not, your paying for ABS either way whether through an option, like on the Altima, or through the base price. The Altima is what I feel the Maxima should have been in 00 but with a nicer interior.

You couldn't be more right! I have posted similar thinking in other threads.
