I have a question. Is it possible to install driver power seat controls introduced in the 2002 model into the 2001 model? I asked the service dept. of my dealer and they think not. But it does not make sense because the seat motors are already there and, unless the controls are rolled into the main computer, it may be possible to add them. Does anyone have any idea if it can be done and how/where?

I work for an automotive actuator supplier, and I'm familiar with what is out there. The memory for the seats is probably kept in the main computer. The 2K2 should have a seat position sensor located in the seat actuator or along the seat track, so a different wire harness would send the position information to the main computer. I think a retrofit would be difficult or impossible. Can anyone prove this otherwise?

 

The 2000 and newer Infiniti's have the Power Seat option, so maybe you should look into it that way, instead of the 2K2 Maxima. The wiring will be more the same in the 2K and 2K1.

Be forewarned:
I tried to put the master window switch from an Infinit I30 into my car (to get the Auto au/down passenger), and ended up frying the switch. $80 down the sh!tter. At the very least, that harness is not the same.
