The emblems on the SE should've been "black chromed".

IMO, the new tails look better on lighter colored cars.

 

I agree that the emblems should be blacked out. Also, the tail lights should have two options so you can get dark ones on dark cars and chrome ones on light cars.

I happen to like the front end of my 2k1 AE SE better than these.

On a related front, I saw a truckload of new Altima's this morning on the way to work. Verrrryy Nice looking.

 

I know I will get flamed for this but after taking a first look and walk around of both the 02 Maxima and 02 Altima, I would have to say I am happy with my 99...any change in my optimum choice would be a Black AE 01 model of which there are two at my local dealer right now...although I am mor einclined to keep mine.

 

I just came back from VOB Nissan. They had an Altima SL sitting out front. Very nice. Looks better in person. The rear lights are very large though.

 

i'm suprised they got rid of the black chrome. but then i guess nissan figured it didnt show up nice on a black car. i like the new shift gate though.

Yeah man, what the hell my dealer just had "Sage's Glendale Nissan" printed on the dealer plate. The frog one looks pretty cool

 

Im not really felling the new taillights. I like everthing else but they just dont do it for me, I would end up putting my 2k lights on it if I ever had a new one. I dont even like how the turn signal is yellow again either i like mine clear. Just wanted to put my 2 cents

I love the look of the 4th gen. Maxima like your '99. I bought a 2001 model because I prefered the look of the 2001 to the 2002. The 2002 may have more power, but I still have to look at it every day.

As for the Altima, I don't care for it. The tail lights are too big and the shape is less aggressive than the Max. I hope the 2003/2004 Max does not come out looking like the Altima.
