5th Gen Muffler questions

Hi everybody.

I have a 4th gen Max and everyone is sayin they are getting a 5th gen muffler.

I heard there is something good about them and that they are variable pressure.

1 How does it do this? How does it work?

I removed the cat (well actually I just used a peice of solid pipe and an axe to smash the insides of it out so its now hollow) because we are not required by law to have them in New Zealand (we dont have emissions laws)

If I also remove the resonator, and replace the stock muffler with a 5th gen muffler and get a y pipe, will this affect low down power with not enough back pressure?

What will it do to the exhaust note/sound?

Thanks.
