I'm looking to get a new set of components up front for my maxima. I need some recommendations from you guys on what you would go with. I plan on amping them and I'm looking for something under $250... I mostly will be listening to rap / house... what would go best in the maxima... any opinions?

with your music style i would look at jl audio's components. they have a great bass response and are well suited to that listening style. I would also look at mb quart. you can't really find a set for under $250 at a retailer, but say on ebay or online you have a shot.

My best suggestion though ... go to a local retailer take your favorite cd's and listen to every set in there. buy the set that sounds the best the best to you.
