hey hlh0501...trans question again...hehe

hey man, got another 5speed question to ask you

when you put in the pilot bushing, how did you pull that spacer type thing out? im at that point rite now and i couldnt get the pilot bushing in and then my friend's shop told me i need to remove the spacer first...thanks! also, did you change the speedo or used the orginal one? thanks

Spacer from the auto? Well if you have some room, you can either try to crack it and remove it w/ a chisel or try to get a hook behind it and pull it out w/ a slide hammer type thingie(like a dent puller) If the spacer is thick enough, you could try to thread a bolt on there and then pull it out from the head of the bolt but I would be carefull with that one.

thanks Jeff

they told me to juss use the special tool for pulling out pilot bushing/bearings. I tried with a screwdriver and it didnt work. SOmeone stole my chisels so cant try that.

Yeah just try to rent the tool. As for the chisels, I bet mr. maxima tt did that.
