I did a small mod to my '96 this weekend. I live in an area where it gets a lot of snow and ice in the winter and an electric antenna can get broken if you're parked out in the snow and ice and it tries to come up. It'll burn up the motor.

I was told that the Bose stereo has a means to stop the antenna from moving, but I can't find anything on that in my owners manual at all.

So, I dig around in my trunk and find a plastic wire loom thing coming out of the electric antenna. (You have to remove the jack door, jack, and move the carpeted cover back) If you cut the PINK wire and put a switch on it you can stop the antenna from moving.

If the car is on with the radio on, turning this off will stop it from going down. If the ant is down, it will not go back up until the switch is on and the car is restarted.
