Has anyone had a problem with the lenses cracking from the heat from higher wattage bulbs? I was think of going with the Hella yellow 85w H3's, but I am worried about cracking the lenses if something cold hits the glass. I live in the northeast so I drive through crappy weather so better fogs would be nice, but I would hate to crack them if some cold snow or slush splashed on them. Any suggestions?

If you are worried and don't wnat to deal with it, don't do it. Last winter, I recall many a posts about this, especially from people with high wattage bulbs.

my fog light lense is cracked also

kinda right across the middle of the lense from one side to the other, I have catz and I didnt put any special high wattage bulbs in there. but I dont worry about it as long as they still work and show the road its all good, plus its barely noticable since the lens is blue.

SO broken....

I put 100W bulbs in there. WHOOPS!! Not a smart move. Cracked both of them. Driver's I replaced, passenger is still cracked, but doesn't leak so I am leaving it. Get some blue H3's and keep it at 55W. You will not see a noticeable difference in upping the wattage, and it's expensive to get new lamps unless you find a nice Maxima.org person with an extra fog in his garage. (Thanks Rich!)

THANKS!

Thanks for the info/advice. Seeing as how I barely had enough money for the car, I wont go and do anything that could cost me more! Thanks!

You've heard of Candy apple red paint...it's like a clear red color...maybe they make a clear yellow paint...take this and spray the inside reflector or the inside of the foglamp lens yellow...so that a regular white bulb will give that deep yellow color. One just has to make sure to keep the coating thin so as not to kill too much of the brightness.

I installed the 55W Hella Yellowstars in H3. They were not as yellow as I had hoped.

I don't think pushing it to 70 watts would be that

greedy. Try 70 watt yellow bulbs.
