Urgent Help: How do you reset ECU?

Hello,

A month ago I brought in my Maxima for an oil change. Suddenly, the Max became very sluggish. It isn't as smooth as before. I checked everything and they seem to be alright. I came to the conclusion that the dealer had detuned my Maxima. One thing I noticed is that my fuel economy was much improved! Before, I use upto 1 tank in a week, but now, I only need 2/3 for one week. I am not worry about fuel economy, I want my performance!

Can anyone tell me how to restore my performance? Anything I could adjust inside the engine? I am sure that I could tune it back....

That's for a 4th gen, he has a 5th gen ... I don't think anyone has figured out how to reset the ECU on the 5th gen yet.

You could try leaving the battery unhooked for a night.

First of all use the f*cking search feature.
second of all why the hell would a dealer "detune" your car. That's just gay.
Anyways to reset your ecu leave the negative on your battery unplugged for more then 45 minutes. I know you're slow so that would be the black cable going to the battery. You will need a 10 mm.

well, id say leave the battery disconected over night then, after you hook it back up again, start the car and let it run for about 5-10min WITHOUT!! touching anything(meaning the gas, climate controls)Nothing! then shut it off and wait 5min. then just go for a normal drive for a couple of min, this will allow the ECU to re-adjust itself to your style of driving and hopefully fix whatever is wrong!

Dude I'm glad you have a life. I'm glad that you don't know how to use the search feature.
Funny I have a life and I'm at work too. I get paid to work and have a life. Big shocker huh?

And where in this post does russ say that you can't reset the ecu by d/c the negative?
Press CTRL + F and type in "Russ" and notice you are the only person the mention it in the thread. Don't be a dumbass.

Oh and BTW. Wassup YJ's friends
