I was looking at the 2001 Max's last night and maybe its just the way the light was hitting them(umm maybe not as it was pouring ) but 3 colors that really stood out where the Icelandic Pearl, the Sterling Mist and the Satin Blue....

I have a Gray Lustre that I bought basically because it was priced right but looking back wish I has held out for the Satin Blue...I don't see too many Max's that color around these parts

Grey Lustre. No remorse. I think I bought the best color (IMHO) that was available at the time.

I bought super black. The only thing I regret is that it is such a ***** to keep it looking clean. If I had to do it all over again I think I would have gone with the sliver mist.

Yeah, i wanted pearl, but

we had just bought a Pearl pathfinder and my wife didnt want us to look like 'twinkies' - as she put it. Jokes on her tho, that pearl is nearly impossible to touchup. Oh wait, i have to fix those.. jokes still on me..

It depends when you ask me.... LOL. When I saw the Satin Blue on the lot, I went for that color. Later on Gray Lustre was my favorite. A few months later I wish I had the Super Black color. Now I've come full circle and I like my Satin Blue Pearl. I receive compliments on the color frequently.

Yep..same here...Super Black with Super Black leather interior. Looks great (and kinda sinister) when clean and waxed, but keeping it this way is a full time job!

I originally wanted the Super Black, but I got the Grey Lustre with Frost leather because I saw this color in the lot at the dealer and it looked pretty sweet! I don't have a garage, so I know keeping the Black clean would have been a challenge. I like the thought of black leather interior, but I didn't really think of it back then. I still like my color combo very much!

I love my sterling mist! So easy to keep clean and looks very nice on the 2K!

I've got a nice black/silver color combo going on my max
Hopefully Jeff K or someone decides to sell their black body kit So I can have black trim along the bottom. Think that would go well or should I find a sterling mist body kit? What about Gray lustre?

Don't regret it yo... that Gray Lustre is NICE. I saw one in our lot at work the other day. It's one of my favorite colors on the Max.

I have Super Black.. nice but if you look at it, it scratches or gets dirty. I rotate between super black, gray lustre, and silver mist being my fave.

I wanted and bought the SuperBlack with all black leather interior. Promptly tinted the windows black. Also have that nice little black shift **** . . . you know the one that comes on the 5spd!! Since it is the SE it even has the smoked (almost black) emblems on the back rather than the chrome. Set off nicely by the chrome outline to the window. I love it. Although I will agree, it is a ***** to keep clean. Flip side is that it forces me to keep it clean.

Icelandic Pearl

I just picked up my 2001 Icelandic Pearl Maxima last week and absolutely love it! The color looks even better in sunlight. Will drive it as is for a while and then make some mods.

I have a super black Maxima. NEVER AGAIN WILL I PURCHASE A BLACK VEHICLE, EVEN IF IT HAS A MERCEDEZ BENZ PAINT JOB, it's so hard to keep clean, and once you get it clean and your in the sun, you see all the swirls and scratches and crap. Then you gotta wax, then it goes away and the whole thing repeats.

Gray Lustre

Like I said before, I wanted the Silver Mist because its easier to keep clean, but I love my car, just hard to keep it looking good.

Remorse

I have a 2000 SuperBlack with Frost? (grey) interior....black on black is too much to me. When there was talk of a 3.5L 260 horse 2002 Max I knew in an eyeblink I would buy one if true (I'm still hoping. The Y-Pipe is still in the box). I also knew in an eyeblink that the new one would be a Sterling Mist so that I could actually enjoy it. My current black one is a garage queen.

gray luster for me. i love the color, almost passed out the first time i saw it. it was also the first time i saw the max. it was a week after it had come out. the car was sooo nice and still is, the interior sooo extravigant. i would possibly picked gray luster with grey interior, but i knew oright off the bat that the creases in the grey leather would turn into dark stained creases after time. gray on black was my final choice. no doubt would i get another gray luster max if i had to do it all over again. and the SE tail lamps match the grey perfectly. ohhh. when i went to tahoe last winter, my car turned icelantic pearl, it looked nice too.

Icelandic Pearl White ...

And Lovin' it ... My 99 Max SE was the same color ... I still think of it!

I think the White with the Red rear side marker and the tail lights looks really cool!

the Gun Metal Rims and the Black Tailight Surround Looks amazing on a Pearl color car!

Re: Sherwood Green / Almond

This was my first choice. It wasn't in any nearby inventory however. So I went with my 2nd choice, Satin Blue Pearl.

In Living Color

Wanted MO-hogany SE with 5spd and cloth. Was told that is a impossible combo. So now there is a sterling mist in the garage(sigh) My regret... like the color but there are so many friggin ones that color already. Must be a good color EH! Maybe next model time I can be more patient.

Gray Lustre / Frost

Wanted Gray Lustre / Black, but couldn't find one. Sometimes wish I had bought a Black / Black, even knowing how hard they are to keep clean...

I wish i had got a black or white one, they both looks sooo sweet when clean and tinted and with the 17" rims. I still like my gold though. and when the light hits it right it is silverish, anyone else notice this??

Icelandic Pearl here...my last Max - a 96' GXE was also Pearl White. I love it because it ALWAYS looks clean and that's nice when your a freak about a clean car like I am - just ask my wife. The new 2001 blue looks awesome in pictures but I haven't seen one yet in person, and the Sterling Mist is at the top of the list also - there's always next time though.

Satin Blue NO regrets

I have the Satin Blue Pearl and love it. I rarely see the color so it feels like a stand out. Plus it looks nice and is not overly noticed by the police. I too get quite a few compliments on my color choice. Though for 2K1, I love the Merlot, with a sand interior and I like the new 20th Ann blue. frost interior though. Damn what a pain to keep clean. I miss the charcoal interior of my 89.
