Automatic tranny fluid change ????

i am going to change the auto tranny fluid in my 97 soon. i have a question about the fluid. i had it changed like 25,000 miles ago at a jiffy lube, i was going to do it myself and use AMSOIL synthetic tranny fluid. my question is can i mix the non-synthetic fulid and the synthetic fluid? i know i will not be able to get all of the old fluid out, or that is my understanding. so is there a problem with mixing the two.

sorry so long

thank you in advance for the help

Don't know about AMSOIL but MOBIL1 synthetic is compatible with all AFT. It says so on the bottle.
May be Bill can help you on this one.

Well, I know Redline D4 ATF is compatible with normal ATF, so my guess is that Amsoil is also mixable. It would be a lousy product if it were completely incompatible with conventional fluids.
