The keyless entry works on both doors and the dome light but neither of the remotes I have will open the trunk. Anyone know what the cause of this might be and how to fix it? Thanks for the help

 

Did you press and HOLD the trunk button for a few seconds?

You said that the remote does not work. What about the switch in the door??? If neither work. then the valet level has been toggled. In my 95, there is a lever on the latch in the trunk. (Back of the trunk) Chances are that somehow this lever has been pressed down. (Too much crap in the trunk could do it). Anyway flip the lever (UP I believe) and that should allow you to open the trunk. Let us know if that is what it is.

 

Thanks for the replies. I can open the trunk from the release button on the driver's side door. I'm pretty sure that last time I tried opening the trunk w/ the remote I held it down at least 2 seconds. I'll try longer when I get home from work and also take a closer look at the mechanism to make sure any switches are toggled correctly.

This is a new car for me so I'm still getting aquainted w/ it and am just trying to sort out and remedy some of its quirks..
