Bose Radio/Tape Player
Bose Radio/Tape Player
The radio and tape player in my 93 SE goes on and off. Sometimes it will work and then it will stop. Sometimes the digital frequency display goes out and then I will hear the antenna motor running. Sometimes I can hear a static like ticking coming from the left side of the dash. It seems like there is a bad connection somewhere. Can someone tell me how to diagnose this problem and what would be required to repair the problem.
Thanks for the help.

Sounds like you're losing the power on the ignition input wire. That's why you hear the antenna run when it goes out (just like when you turn the radio off), and also why you hear clicking on the left side (that's the amp power relay). Could be a bad wire, bad connector, or something inside the radio. Maybe a fuse, too. I'd check that first, since it's easiest.
If it's a bad HU, I've got a double-din bose cassete/cd deck in perfect working order out of a 94 that I have no need for. Make an offer if anyone's interested.
No amps, mounting hardware included. Just the deck.
