but why get a ypipe now and then buy headers later? You wont be able to use your current cattman ypipe with the headers. headers come with its own ypipe which is slightly different the ypipe sold by itself (atleast thats the design for the 5 and 5.5 gen so I assume its the same for the 6th)

 

Not true. I understand that the y-pipe and headers can be bought separately or together, at the buyers election. Hence, it is ok to buy y pipe first and then header.

This is true. Brian is actually offering a discount for those who buy the Y-Pipe now and the Headers later. The same discount you'd get if you bought the 2 together. The only different Y-Pipe that is in the works is the one for the 4AT/6MT models, since the one shipping is the 5AT model. I have a 5AT model shipped as well, although no details as to when it'll arrive. Ballpark according to DHL is Tuesday. It'll go on Tuesday night, even if it rains I'm planning on a massive picture taking on my part...my first since joining the Maxima forums.

I think the 4AT doesn't have the steptronic shifter on it (the + or - gear changing). I also think it was only in early 2004 SL models...someone correct me if I'm wrong...

Mine also doesn't have a delivery date. I did a DHL quote based on a shipping date of today. It should get here Tuesday if DHL's quote system is accurate. I'll take the pictures of mine once I get it. I'll also make sure to get some great pictures of how trashy it looks to have a Maxima parked on ramps in the driveway of a nice house...maybe I'll find a trailer park and stage an install there...

I just tracked my DHL Y-Pipe and its about an hour away from here right now. I assume that means it *may* come tomorrow. I may have to run to pep boys and get something to loosen up bolts...

DHL always leaves stuff on my doorstep...watch this be the first time they don't. I'll be tracking it all day at work. Its ok if they don't leave it though since I'm off at 4pm, I'll have time to go pick it up if need be.

 

they said that since i live in condo/appt ... that they wont leave stuffl.. i guess it makes sense

 

As for the pics, I'll get some unboxing photos first and try to get them uploaded. The install may be delayed as I have to wait for my wife to drive the Maxima home, put it up on ramps, and let it cool off. I also may have a copy of Halo 3 sitting on my front door step, so I may use that to kill some time.
