Got dark out and my arms are like rubber. I'm giving up for the night. I put the 6 front bolts back on. I'm not sure cutting it will do me any good, I may be in a worse position. Has anyone cut theirs?

My vice grips simply ripped the bolts a new one. Has anyone ever taken their car to a Midas or Firestone like place and had them take bolts off?

I'm going to drive it to my friend's house tomorrow and give it a go. He has a torch so we might try heating them up...

So no luck for me Us salt and snow folks are in for a lot of work!

You could use a portable propane torch and heat them a little then try the vise grips, ive actually used a dremel or air saw before. Just be carfull and cut them off, one side at a time.Shoot if you had to couldnt you just cut off the entire bolt drill new holes and use some different nus and bolts? Had to do that before also.

You think if I took it to Midas (right by my house) I could tell them to replace those 2 bolts with new ones and they'd do it cheaply? Honestly all I need is 2 new bolts that I can get off. If I told them to make it loose I'm sure they would. Just wondering how much it'd cost me at Midas or some place similar to replace 2 stinking deteriorated bolts.

Midas by my house just quoted me over the phone $10 to replace the 2 bolts at the cat with new ones and put them on light enough for me to remove tonight.

If anyone living in the midwest is struggling with those bolts, I highly recommend paying someone to put new ones on temporarily...

All done. $10 later I got 2 bolts I can get off. Tonight the job will be done. Midas told me they'd install it for $40 too...I'll try it in my driveway. If I can't do it...they're open late

Can someone drop the torque specifications?

I know the 02 sensor is 40-50 lbs.

What about the other bolts?

Lets see if everybody is in synch...

Also, has anybody tried jacking up the front end and having a friend or especially a enemy (not you haha) get under while you Rev at 3000rpm to see if he/she can pinpoint where the hiss is coming from?

PS have them sign the waiver after a few beers.

Ok so I got it on and took it around the block.

Car definitely feels a lot stronger all threwout the powerband. Really pulls hard.

I also get the hiss/whistle. I'm not sure if it's because this y-pipe flows soo much better, or lack of cat, or both...maybe something else....don't know what it is.

you will now notice that you dont get the rotten egg smell (I belive ammonium disulfide) due to the lack of that bomb of a cat back there. Much better and yes will pass emissions at least here in Georgia bc they dont do a smog test here, just OBDII. Check your heat shield before the y pipe and make sure they are not lose.

The hiss is coming from the mesh weave ... more flow... more sound i guess?

I can feel it threwout, BUT, the top primarily.

The spacers are like all bottom and this is mid-top.....nice combo.

W00h00! Glad I ordered the Y-pipe w/out cat then. I'm in the ATL area and didn't know if I'd pass emissions but was going to go for it anyways. Thanks for the info bra.

And Chern thanks for the undershot!
