Do you guys think an ECU reset should be done after install? Or will the ECU naturally just learn it. I didn't do an ECU reset after the CAI or phenolic spacers.

There's some special brake pedal and ignition sequence you have to do. Maybe someone will post the diagram on how to do it...

You can also just ride it out and let the ECU learn itself within a couple of days

My CE pipe was VERY easy to do. Nine bolts plus the support. Make sure u WD40 your bolts BEFORE trying to remove them. U may even try anti-seize compound on the new bolts to reduce possibility of sticky bolts when it comes time to remove the pipe.

Here are some pics. I shot a contents of the bag as well as down the Y-Pipe.

Maxima was sprayed with the bolt loosener and is sitting in the driveway on ramps cooling down. Updates to follow.

Anyone know what size socket I need for the 6 bolts that attach the y's into the headers? Just trying to get this stuff ready so I don't have to go looking for tools tonight.

Holy crap?!

And this will still pass emissions? I believe I heard there are two versions - with and without cats. Are both the same (performance wise) or did I just make that all up.

I don't think the one without the cat will pass emissions. It's a shame the one with the cat is so much more expensive. But that just means I have to hold off longer and work more.

What am I missing?

Why not (since there is only 9 bolts) just put the factory pipe back on for emmisions testing?

I ordered the one w/out cat and for grins going to try th emissions test. Worst case is I go back, swap, pass test then swap again. Brian says it's a very easy swap so no biggie. He also says you can send the Y-Pipe back at anytime to have the Cattman high-flow cat installed which is pretty cool.

I'm stuck. The 2 bolts at the cat are near stripped (rusted) and will not budge. Any suggestions on how to get them off? They are thoroughly soaked in some penetrating oil. I called a friend to possibly come over to help me. I am not sure if its safe to cut them off or not....

Are you sure the can be cut? I think they're threaded through. So if I cut them won't I be in a worse place? What do I use the vice grips for....

I feel ya brau,

Hopefully you capture the "Y" before you not-so-anxiously head off to work (much like I feel about being at work in the first place). Y me???

But if not, spray her bolts down before you go to bed so she is cool, lubricated, and ready to be loosened up so you can get her off when you wake up!

Then I want you to immediately grab your new girl and put her in her place by way of bolts...screwed...turned...tightened...torqued. Keep screwing her until all bolts have been torqued (7-9 times).

Keep your other girl around for emmisions only. Afterall, all she blows is hot air!!!

And yes we want some pics. And of corse we want to know how she performs...

Here's a pic of one of the stuck bolts. The other has far less places to grip since I been beating on it.
