I brought my 2002 Maxima GLE two days ago.
Today, when I made a U-Turn at an intersection, I heard tire squealing, but I didn't step on the gas pedal very heavily just like normal driving. Nothing happend, so I pulled over and checked the car. I found the bottom of the transemission was greasy. Is it possible to fix it, and how much it will be?
btw. what is the phenomenon of DIFF failure?

It was really pissing me off that somebody threw his door on my car...i got two small dents on the right side of my car...

there is oil all over the bottom of your engine...you sure its from the tranny?

 

Check you power steering fluid reservoir. Some cars use transmission fluid for power steering. If it's lower than normal, your power steering pump may have gone bad. But if nothing is wrong then it has to be your transmission.

 

the power steering pump is on the complete other side of the engine

 

it's driver side, so i think it's the tranny

 

which side?

 

tranny - drivers side
power steering pump - passenger side

 

I know that....
I checked my tranny again and found out there is a pipe between the tranny and the radiator. At the tranny side is greasy..

 

btw.. check your tire pressure.. that might take care of the squealing

that looks way to high on the tranny to be coming from where the pan connects or from the cooling connection

 

from the pics it looks like the fluid might be kinda dried up... since you just bought the car 2 days ago, it might be from a leak that the car had, but they fixed it and just didnt wipe off the parts

touch the parts and see if you feel moisture

Its part of the trans, it looks to me like there was some other problem like a dipstick wasnt in its place and fluid shot up everywhere. Get some degreaser and clean it off, and then keeep an eye out for more stains.
