Is that the little button next to the ignition that us 5 spd people need to push in every time we take the key out of the ignition?

no idea, but on the 5.5 gens w/6mt you have to push the key in, it's pretty snazzy.

It's not that bad, there is specifications in the fsm, the symptoms would be starting related..........

clutch pedal has no tension!!

alright then, new clutch problem:

my clutch pedal has no tension whatsoever, it just hangs slack down near the floor. when i parked it yesterday it drove fine; today, its all slack and i cant get it in gear. is it possible the clutch cable popped off or something? is this 'clutch gone bad'? it is a 98SE5sp with ~119K on original clutch. i've been waiting for it to go out any time now, but it has been driving fine until today. just seems pretty sudden and wierd. hasnt had any clutch fade or anything.

Normally a threadjack isn't cool either, but I geuss it's somewhat related and who cares with this guy now anyways

Free google search does wonders, this has happened many times. Check ur fluid level, reservoir is on the firewall below/to the right of the brake booster, probably a leak in the lower clutch line. More than likely a hydraulic failure of some sorts, the maxima clutch has no cable.

could b the clutch slave cylinder... but check the pressure hose first... i replaced my clutch slave cylinder first which only solved the problem for a few hours... than i replaced the pressure hose... and than i joined maxima.org and found out that i should've checked the pressure hose first because its common.
