5sp Transmission making odd noise??
I started yesterday, i just got done replacing my fuel filter, and i went to the gas station and filled her up. I got home and parked it, then had to leave again (this time its pouring rain outside), i start her up and i hear a noise from the tranny, i really dont know how to explain the noise,, its kinda like a squash squash squash..., it stops when i press the clutch in, but when i release the clutch it makes that noise again. i dont feel any problem in my acceleration or shifting, it goes through all gears fine, and the noise will go away after 50-60 mph or so. what could it be.. throw out bearing or just bad pressure plate or clutch. All cv boots are good and tranny has no visible leaks. And i did a gear oil change about 1 month ago with mt redline GL4

none of the above, it's your input shaft bearing. replacement requires partial disassembly of the transmission. you'd probably be looking at a minimum of $600 to have a trans shop do it. dgeesaman and myself both sell rebuilt transmissions (which obviously includes replacement of this bearing). I don't have any available right now but he might, I expect he'll probably see and post in this thread.
Yup input shaft bearings make a rur-rur-rur-rur (very fast) sound when the clutch pedal is out and the car is in neutral.
I do have a tranny ready, but I have no idea how close you are to harrisburg, PA.
If you find a tranny shop who doesn't specialize in Maximas work on it, MAKE SURE they re-measure all the shims. It's a loosely supported theory that the worn out 5 speeds are due to shims that weren't selected properly by the factory. Or at the very least, the housings have stretched a bit and now they need a different size of shim. If the shims aren't right the bearings don't last very long.
