Pulstar Plugs on a 6th gen?

Has anyone put these on a 6th gen ? Not interested in any other cars or maxima besides the 6th gen.

Are they worth 24.95 a plug??? i mean i would think that it would be CRAZY to spend that... but maybe im crazy!!!! haha

They say that normal plugs are 15 watt... and these "Pulstar Pulse " plugs are 1,000,000 watt???? They say these plugs burn more completly which inturn creates more hp/tq.

The site is www.pulstarplugs.com

P.s. I saw these when i was celebrating april 20th tonight .. just kinda cought my attention...

I think I'll stick to my 100K mile factory plugs for that price... Let alone the service charges.

In theory by the way it's described it works just like an ignition amplifier, which can go either way depending on who you talk to. Either way I would say it's not worth it, ignition amplifiers on a mild NA to my understanding don't do anything of worth so neither would these going with that premise

I just did some research, not alot of people who have used them, the manf. claims up to a 9% improvement in mileage while an EPA study cites 2.7% improvement. That would equate to an extra 1/2 mile a gallon plus whatever hp/tq increases are said to be accompanied.

So the question is who's spending 150 bucks on spark plugs?

A reputable car magazine did dyno testing on these this month. They used a 2006 350Z with the VG35DE. The Z had 1500 miles on it so the OE plugs were basically new. The car had been used to build an intake and exhaust manifold and had been dynoed many times during that process on a DynoPack hub dyno.

The Z had been putting out 239.7 on the stock plugs. With the Pulstars it pulled 250.1 whp. Gain of 10.4 whp, and 7.2 tq - about 5% increase.

The article was talking about how they were all laughing in the beginning as they were starting this, but the dyno results shut them all up. They are currently testing the fuel mileage claim.

I say: WORTH IT.

In the links provided , a maxima guy just bought them and is going to report back. The 350z that put them in he did other things besides plugs and the dyno numbers started low. He didnt gain very much though.

Read that article in this months Modified MAG. I was quite impressed, but considering I just shelled out $60 for a brand new set of NGK iridium plugs that I cant return....... DOH!!!!

LOL, if anyone wants my brand new iridiums I'm willing to give thease PULSTARS a shot.

I don't know where a dyno is in Hawaii so I guess I will just get the damn things anyway. I am so inpatient it's quite pathetic. How hard are the sparkplugs to replace on this engine? I will search my service manual and see what the job entails. I am deffinitly not taking it to Nissan and have them do it.

Co-worker had them installed on his Altima 2.5S at a local mom and pop mechanic shop. He thought he got duuped until he noticed his mileage increased. At the time gas here was $1.35 per litre.

I think it turned out ok for him.

I will try them on my winter car, Pontiac Vibe, see how they play out. But for the Maxy the NGK Iridiums I have are great and they works awesome on the track too. Dunno how the Pulstars would keep up with demanding track use.

Here is a thread on nissanclub where one of our members is supposedly going to do a dyno test on these and see what they are all about. He has been in touch with the guy on our site who claims to be the president of the pulstar plugs company and they are working something out

so I am deffinitly following the altima forum on this matter and have decided now to wait and see the results from their test. The test however will be done on the 4 banger vice the 6, so results will be different. I just wanna see if there is an improvement and if it is worth it.

NGK Iridiums on my Max with the NWP spacers, Via Plate, AEM CAI and custom cat-back. Also UR Underdrive Aluminum pulley. Amazing highway gas mileage at the moment up from 29 to 36 MPG! Next up will be the Y-pipe and that should do it for the engine mods...next up will be Tail lights and I'm thinking of the 07 spoiler on my 05 due to the LEDs. Also waiting for the front lip.
