My question is- do all 99 ECU'S function the same?

I have:

1. Cali-Spec?
2. Manual Tranny?
3. No traction control?

-- Do those things change the ECU completely?

I dunno, you will have to do some research. I think you could put the auto ecu into a manual, but not the other way around, I THINK. No traction control, doesnt matter. cali-spec, might throw a code for not having that 4th O2 sensor( cuz the fed only has 3)... but I think the car would run, but with codes. AGAIN, please do your research. I am just going off the top of my head.

If its a fed spec it will not work on a cali spec without multiple codes. Trust me trying to find an ECU for a 99 Cali spec 5 spd is like finding a needle in a haystack. I thought i needed one for a while and spend a good month looking on car-part.com and many other websites without much luck.

Are you looking for a stock or aftermarket ECU?

To avoid any headaches, get a Cali-spec MT ECU. Try www.car-part.com
