Steering wheel idea

Ok, so Im at Super Autobacs checking out seats and I happen to see a clapped out 07 Civic Si on display. I stick my nose in the interior and I see this:

Awesome steering wheel!!!!!!!!!!!

Think this would be cool in the Max? Here is a terrible Microsoft Paint chop that I did to get an idea of what it may look like in my car:

The steering wheel is a bit smaller, waaaay cooler looking and has all the buttons on it like the Maxima. Ok so it doesnt heat. Im in So Cal. I figure I can wire up the other functions pretty easily - radio, cruise, air bag etc.

Any thoughts? Feel free to do a better photochop than I did, which should be easy to do.

Here is my interior with OEM wheel to use for photochopping:

Good question. Either fill in the indentation somehow (body shop) or make a plastic circle and put carbon fiber on it or whatever, and use double sided 3m tape to hold it in place.

No one has any opinions on this? Considering the steering wheel may be the most touched object in the car, it seems like it would be the subject of improvements. I sat in an 07 Civic today to check out the steering wheel. Its really nice and is an inch smaller in diameter, which is nice too. I think it could work. Just connect the wires from the steering wheel to the Maxima wires and the cruise control and radio controls will be fully functional.

Color seems to match, and the curves add a bit of sparkle to the plain Nissan steering wheel

It's not my cup of tea but you seem to like it. As for the wiring, you'ld probably have to gut your stock wheel and swap over the boards. Not hard, but not very fun.

Why do the boards have to be swapped. Should the controls work with just connecting the wires?

not technically qualified for this comment... but what abt the airbag? are they (or not) designed with the whole car in mind? rate at which it blows compared to weight of car and speed etc...

(and not to mention insurance co's finding out... its not std. not that any one wants its to go off... but....)
