bought a twin cam motor and tranny

i just recently bought a twin cam motor and 5 speed transmission for a third gen max, the motor has less than 40k miles along with the transmission. the vtcs are clacking in the motor but the transmission is fine. if i rebuild the vtc's how hard would it be to swap out the vg for teh new twin cam one. and if its not possible any wanna buy a good transmission?

It's not really worth swapping. I mean, it could be done, but there is a ton of work involved.

You will need to find a complete engine harness and ECU, since they are different than the VG one.

Probably cheaper / easier to buy a SE with a blown motor and swap into it.
