How much bracing is too much? Is there such a thing?

How much bracing is too much? Is there such a thing?

Hi, I've been reading about the SFC's, the sidemembers and the crossmembers and what they do. My question is this, Is is a bad thing to have a tank-like subframe? I'm talking about the sidemembers, and welding crossbracing in a zigzag from firewall to muffler, and a big thick LTB.

The reason I am asking is because I am going to be buying a MIG welder soon, and I have sufficient welding skill to take on a project like this (of course this is only after I make my turbo manifold). And since you just read that I am going to turbo the car, I'll already have tons of extra hp to support the extra 100lbs or so, especially since the extra lbs are already sprung

the only drawback to extra bracing is the extra weight.
If you're just stacking on tubes and random angles, you're going to add weight and not a ton of stiffness. you really need to do the engineering homework before you go much past the standard SFCs + chassis braces.
