Better launching??
Better launching??
So after seeing what 60' neal has gotten by slipping the clutch i tried it out. I find it kind of difficult to slip it hard... i guess i need more practice. But here is what i learned. If your at a stop and u hold the brake, let the clutch out so the rpms drop low then when the light turns green if you give it gas its slips really nice. Then when you have the clutch out all the way nail it. It is somthing that is done fast but not too fast because your trying not to spin the wheels. I know it will wear the clutch out more. Sorry if people already know this but i find this very cool since i have problems hooking up.
on my Mickey Thompsons I just dump it from 5500
.
But previously whenever I'd try to go on street tires, I sucked, lol. I was never able to really get the clutch to slip. I'd always end up banging through the gears. Even if I did manage to get a nice slip going for 1st ear, I'd bang it into 2nd and spin the whole gear, lol. So instead of changing my style of launching, I changed the rubbers lol. Makes my life alot easier.
Getting that clutch slip just right is not a skill, its an art form, lol. Not many can do it right (myself included), but at least they have slicks for folks like me, lol
